Help, I’m Alive | A Winner!

November 19, 2012

Hiiiiiiiiii.

Wowie, what a couple of weeks it’s been! No rest for the wicked, as they say. I’ve been having some good times with friends and family, and so I took a wee little break from blogging to soak up that goodness. Making time for the special people, places, and food in our lives – it’s important!

Here are a few shots of what I’ve been up to, courtesy of my iPhone and Instagram (@onceuponarecipe).

Drinking overpriced seasonal beverages. You just gotta.

Shoveling…

Eating. As per usual.

Capturing pretty early winter sunsets.

Eating more. Enjoying treats with friends.Β

Playing in the snow with this crazy girl.Β

Playing in the snow makes me hungry. Late night cookies!

Music break! The amazing Metric.

Dinner parties! (PS. They’re even better when someone cooks for you).

Muah.

Oh, and we have a winner from the blogoversary giveaway!

The winner was chosen by the random number generator, and I must say, I chuckled when I discovered who #32 was. You see, I won a giveaway on Kristy’s blog about a year ago. My friend – I am so tickled that I get to share all of these goodies with you! Please email your full mailing address to onceuponarecipe[dot]amanda[at]gmail[dot]com and I will get this little package shipped off to you ASAP!

And to everyone else who entered, thank you. It was fun to read about everyone’s favorite kitchen tools. My KitchenAid stand mixer is definitely at the top of my list, and a glass of wine makes cooking and baking infinitely more enjoyable than it already is!

More recipes coming your way soon! xoxo

    Hi Amanda,

The picture of you and your dog is an exceptional treasure!

Thanks Wendy! Pictures of her and I together are few and far between. For obvious reasons. πŸ˜‰

Oh my gosh, so much snow already!?! Wow. It’s unseasonably warm where I’m at, Chicago. It snowed once but it didn’t really stick. Now it’s in the 50s again. Love the pics πŸ™‚

Yes, SO much snow already! Makes me a little nervous for the rest of the winter…
      Thanks girl!

I love how cosy all of these pictures are! They really make me feel the fall/winter season and what it’s all about. Warm drinks, candles, wine, snow!

Beautiful sunset, although you must be in for a very long winter with all that snow already! Enjoy Thanksgiving and I look forward to more posts after the holiday πŸ™‚

Thanks lady! Yes, winters are long around here! Thanksgiving has passed here in Canada but I’m sure I can find other excuses to eat lots of delicious food. Not that I’ve ever really needed such a thing. πŸ˜‰ Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Great pics and a real inspiration as I keep meaning to add photos to my own blog but was sure an iPhone would not lead to the kind of pictures I have viewed on other blogs. But yours look really great – I shall begin snapping away :0)

Thanks! Picture-taking on the iPhone is much more fun when you use apps like Instagram, Colorsplash, Camera360, ProHDR, just to name a few. These apps can really enhance/jazz up plain jane photos. Have fun with it!

Looks like you’ve been having a wonderful and well-deserved blog-break. Welcome back! We know a thing or two about taking a break…ever since little man was born, we’ve been on one extended cooking break around here. Takeout rules!
